Open Days
Visits, campus tours and open days
Reading and research can give you vital information about a university. But it's not the same as seeing it for yourself. At Birmingham you are welcome to visit, talk to students, explore the campus, see where you might live, and come to your own conclusions.
Open days
Information about forthcoming Open Days is listed on the University's Open Day website.
- The next Undergraduate Open Days will be held on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd June 2012.
- The next Postgraduate Open Day will be held on Tuesday 7th February 2012
These days provide excellent opportunities to speak to academic staff and explore the University.
Campus tours
We encourage prospective students to come and see the University, so we run visits and open days throughout the year. Guided tours are organised every Tuesday and Thursday at 11.00am and 2.00pm, when you'll be shown around by a current Birmingham student. Tours last approximately one hour and show you all the main facilities on campus, including the Guild of Students, Sports Centre and Library.
The tour will require you to walk round the campus so comfortable footwear is advised. If you, or anyone who will be accompanying you, has a disability or any other special needs please advise us when booking your place. This will allow us to make all the necessary arrangements to ensure your visit is as easy as possible.
Please note that the tours do not include visits to individual departments or halls of residence.
Places are strictly limited and need to be booked one week in advance.
